Thank you for your support in 2024

Monday, December 23 2024

As the year comes to a close, I want to express our deep gratitude for your incredible support throughout 2024.

Through your generosity, we have been able to provide unprecedented levels of legal assistance to thousands of vulnerable people with predicaments that could hardly matter more: seeking protection from persecution, safety from family violence, freedom from detention and reuniting with family.

It was your generosity that made it possible to stand up and battle the myriad challenges and injustices confronting people seeking our help. With your help, we’ve taken concrete action with clear purpose and great impact, rising to all of these challenges at every turn.

Through your support we have had a major impact on systemic change, whether through strategic litigation, or advocacy on family violence, the new Administrative Review Tribunal, processing of protection visa backlogs, responses to global crises (such as the Israel-Gaza conflict, Ukraine, Afghanistan and Myanmar), immigration detention, and collaboration with the global legal community to increase legal assistance for people forcibly displaced.

Your support enables us to change the course of so many people’s lives, giving them the chance to build a better life in safety and with dignity.

History shows that progress and real change do not happen on their own – they’re driven by individual and political will. Our agency. Our actions.

Let’s work together to continue to fearlessly advocate for major reform that honours our international human rights obligations, the rule of law, and the values which underpin them: humanity, compassion, fairness and justice.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have donated to our End of Year Appeal.

If you haven’t yet made a contribution, there is still time to give a gift that will help change lives.

With thanks and very best wishes for the festive season,

David Manne
